WEDDING TIPS

  • Talk about finances with your fiancé and those contributing to the wedding and set a budget.
  • Get a wedding planner book with separate sections for each vendor. Keep your info filed here, from initial contact to signed contracts for quick reference.
  • Decide on a guest list. Having an approximate number of guests expected is essential when speaking with vendors about prices and services.
  • After reserving your wedding date with your ceremony and reception site, send out “Save the Date “ cards to guests you are inviting so they can put it on their calendars and make necessary travel plans. Include a photo or graphic of Ligonier’s Diamond on the cards as decoration!
  • The Diamond can also be used as a theme for decorations and favors. How about giving each guest a cookie in the shape of the Diamond? Or a beautiful cake constructed in the shape of the gazebo? There are also Annual Ligonier Limited Edition Christmas Ornaments and other memorabilia on sale through the The Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce, www.ligonier.com
  • Couples can use the Diamond in Ligonier for their wedding ceremony free of charge. Be sure to check with the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce in case there is anything planned for that day.
  • It is never too early to speak with a floral designer about your wedding. You need not have your colors chosen, the types of flowers are important and colors can be changed. This way you will have an idea of cost and can book your designer. One less detail to worry about.
  • Assign phone committee in advance to call missing RSVP’s for each side of the family.
  • All couples should have premarital counseling.
  • Start planning your honeymoon/trip as soon as possible. Destinations outside the US all require passports (4-6 weeks delivery). Fall offers great travel bargains!
  • Be sure to try on your tux at the shop or as soon as you get home to ensure the right fit. Don't wait until wedding day!
